These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MentalMather mobile application ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
MentalMather is a mental math training app that measures cognitive performance through arithmetic problem-solving. The app is available in two tiers: a free version supported by advertisements, and an optional ad-free subscription ("MentalMather Premium"). All core features — including the Sharpness Score, challenges, statistics, and game modes — are available in both tiers.
You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use the app. The app generates an anonymous device identifier to store your progress locally and enable multiplayer challenges. If you use the challenge feature, you may optionally set a display name that is visible to your opponents.
You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose — personal mental math practice and friendly challenges. You agree not to:
The app, including its design, code, algorithms, Sharpness Score system, and visual assets, is the intellectual property of MentalMather. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
The free version of the app displays interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Ads appear only between screens — never during gameplay or while viewing results. Ad content is determined by Google, not by MentalMather. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Your interaction with ads is governed by the advertiser's own terms and policies. MentalMather Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.
MentalMather Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes all advertisements from the app. By subscribing, you agree to the following:
Your game data (scores, times, progress) is stored primarily on your device. Some data is sent to our servers for challenges, analytics, and feature testing as described in our Privacy Policy. If you uninstall the app, locally stored data will be lost. Subscription status is managed by Apple or Google and is restored automatically when you reinstall the app or switch devices using the same store account.
MentalMather is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times. The Sharpness Score is a self-comparison tool for entertainment and personal tracking — it is not a medical, neurological, or diagnostic assessment and should not be used as a substitute for professional evaluation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MentalMather shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to MentalMather in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may update, modify, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the app. If we discontinue the Premium subscription offering, active subscribers will retain ad-free access through the end of their current billing period.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
